Great Mailday & 2011 Ginter

with one comment

Today I received #6/10 of my silk card from 2010 Ginter…this brings me to five of the ten.  Unfortunately I lost 1/10 to someone on ebay this week!  If you find one of these (or any of my NNO, Bazooka, Plates, wood) there is a nice finder’s fee in it for you!  Has anyone ever collected a full run of ten silks?  Hell, has anyone even gotten five?

By the way, in case you didn’t already know, Topps messed up and put Brett Gardner on my card with my name.  Bummer that it isn’t me, but cool that it’s an error.

Also, for anyone out there collecting ANYTHING from 2011 Ginter, I am trading or selling every bit I have.  I haven’t had a chance to sort through everything and put a list of what I have yet, but if you need something leave a comment and I’ll check for you.  I’m only trading for anything from 2010 Ginter that is on my want list at the top right.

Thanks!!

Was lucky enough to get my hands on some scans…seems like certain areas of the country have Targets that received the retail version of Ginter early.  I was lucky enough to talk to some of those people and one provided this:

I don’t want to post the back because it has a tiny clue, but if you’re interested in seeing it let me know!

I’ve also seen what the code cards are this year, and it looks like it’s going to be a tough one.  Code cards fall 1 in every 8 packs, and I’m not sure how many there are (I’ve seen two so far).  My theory (without giving too much away):  getting the code cards and knowing what to do with them will be fairly easy.  What to do next is a little tougher, and I have a good hunch that Topps didn’t provide all the info yet…I think they were tired of people (cough, cough) cracking the code so quickly and wanted the contest to stay open longer.  This way they keep interest in the product longer and sell more…can’t blame them.

That’s all I’ve got for now, if anyone has questions let me know!

A good source has told me that some people have gotten their paws on Ginter already…I don’t know how people get cards a week before the release date, but I need to know these people. 🙂

Still debating on whether I’m going to try for the code this year considering how busy work is right now for me.  Anyone else out there trying it??

Check out this beauty, which comes from the evolution subset:
