Today I received #6/10 of my silk card from 2010 Ginter…this brings me to five of the ten. Unfortunately I lost 1/10 to someone on ebay this week! If you find one of these (or any of my NNO, Bazooka, Plates, wood) there is a nice finder’s fee in it for you! Has anyone ever collected a full run of ten silks? Hell, has anyone even gotten five?
By the way, in case you didn’t already know, Topps messed up and put Brett Gardner on my card with my name. Bummer that it isn’t me, but cool that it’s an error.
Also, for anyone out there collecting ANYTHING from 2011 Ginter, I am trading or selling every bit I have. I haven’t had a chance to sort through everything and put a list of what I have yet, but if you need something leave a comment and I’ll check for you. I’m only trading for anything from 2010 Ginter that is on my want list at the top right.
Today I received a trade package from the perfect type of trade. I sent about 20 different cards that I already had several of to begin with, in exchange for one card that I highly covet. Being able to get rid of extra cards and reducing the excess fat in my collection is one of my main collecting goals for 2011.
Enough about that…today I received another one of my silk error cards from this year’s set. In case you weren’t aware, Topps’ quality control department must have been on break when printing my silk card, and they somehow managed to put Brett Gardner’s picture on my card.
I was contacted a while back about someone who also had one but he hasn’t responded to me so I’m not sure if he has it. So there you have it…I have #s 2, 6, 7, and 9. If you can track down 1, 3, 4, 5, 8, or 10, I will provide you an offer you can’t refuse!
Today I received the full set of auto’s as the 2009 Ginter Code champion codebreaker. There are 70 auto’s, and include every auto from the normal auto set, except for Alex Rios. There was also only one Phelps auto which was a little disappointing because I believe he had 7 or 8 in the set. They are in a special frame and all of these auto’s are technically 1/1’s. Here is a scan of the Phelps card:
The photo isn’t great quality because I’m at work and just took the picture with my iPhone. The frame is a lot lighter than the normal autos, and there is also the word “CODEBREAKER” along the right border, which makes them 1/1.
This of course is only the first prize, as I will be on a card in the 2010 set!
If anyone has any questions let me know!
Sorry for the decrease in postings the last week…I’ve been slammed at work and traveled out of town for a wedding this past weekend. I’m not quite sure when this package came in, and I have completely forgot who the trade was with, but I sent a nice stack of Ginter doubles out in exchange for some SPs and Ginter Code cards I was missing. I’ve updated my list at the right…let’s make a deal!
I sent over a slew of cards to Mike at JD’s Wild Cardz this weekend and he returned the favor. I received the cards today which is impressive considering he mailed them from Oregon on Friday or Saturday. Anyways, we basically traded a bunch of 2009 A&G that either of us needed for our want list. Only problem is, since he sent his package I went out and bought another box, so now I am only using one of the 19 base cards he sent over. However, he also sent over 12 Ginter Code cards, and I think I need 10 of them. Thanks Mike, let me know when you get your package!
I’ve edited my want/trade list for 2009 Allen and Ginter to the right (although I haven’t had a chance to input all of the minis I have available), let me know if you need anything I’ve got or if you have anything I need!
The contest was to guess a number between 1 and 500…I chose 333, knowing his favorite player’s (Jose Canseco) jersey number was 33. That number was already taken so I threw another 3 on the end for good luck, and because it was Chris Paul’s number. Isn’t she a beauty?
